Doses and effects reported by users are uncommonly broad, leading to suspicions that in many cases, other substances mislabelled as 5-MeO-DALT have been taken.
Users have self-reported nausea and vomiting, anxiety, breathlessness, facial flushing, jaw clenching, tachycardia, throat tightness, chest tightness and chest pain. Convulsions have also been reported.
Visual, auditory or tactile hallucinations are common. These may be accompanied by psychological effects including anxiety, features of psychosis, and possible agitation from the presence of serotonin syndrome.
Elevated blood pressure, a racing heartbeat & increased body temperature may also be seen in tryptamine use. Nausea, vomiting, breathlessness, chest tightness & chest pain have also been self-reported by users.
Additionally, there is a risk of convulsions following tryptamine use. Smoking tryptamines may be irritant to the lungs and throat.
