Adverse effects commonly found in therapeutic use include: headache, asthenia, chest pain, abdominal pain, nausea, dry mouth, diarrhoea, constipation, anorexia, dyspepsia, tachycardia, palpitations, vasodilatation, nervousness, insomnia, anxiety, dizziness, drowsiness, depression, confusion, paraesthesia, rash, hypertonia, blurred vision and raised liver function tests.
In overdose: nausea, diarrhoea, insomnia, restlessness, confusion, agitation and hallucinations, tachycardia, bradycardia, hypertension and chest pain may occur.
