Olanzapine is a thienobenzodiazepine medication which is used in schizophrenia, mania and bipolar disorder.

Short term effects

Central nervous system depression which may be prolonged. Dilated pupils or miosis, blurred vision, hypotension, tachycardia, slurred speech, dry mouth or hypersalivation, ataxia and extrapyramidal symptoms are possible. Seizures and coma may occur in severely poisoned patients. The most common symptoms reported in children are lethargy, tachycardia and agitation.
