Quetiapine is a medicine which is used in depression, schizophrenia, treating mania in people with bipolar disorder, treating depression in people with bipolar disorder and preventing relapses in bipolar disorder. Quetiapine belongs to a class of medicines called antipsychotics. Quetiapine was notified by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) as a potential drug of abuse in 2014.

Short term effects

Drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, delirium, agitation, dry mouth, urinary retention, slurred speech and confusion.
